Last November I went to Louisville, Kentucky to teach an extrication. It was a little bit of a home coming since one of the departments I rode past during a decade of my childhood. The three fire departments that were trained were Harrods Creek, St Matthews, Worthington Fire Districts. The jointly conducted training was coordinated by Training Major Mike Richardson of St. Matthews. One of the apparatuses that was brought to the training site was Harrods Creek Rescue 1288. This unique heavy rescue was purchased because the East End Crossing will connect their response area with Indiana and add new roadways with increased traffic, new bridges, and a 1700 feet tunnel. Rescue 1288 is also equipped with Draeger BG4 Rebreathers.
Rescue 1288
One feature that rescues are winch receivers. Rescue 8 has winch receivers on the front bumper, driver side, passenger side, and on the rear. Electric receptacles are located next to the winch receivers.
