Heavy Rescue 21

Provo Fire & Rescue’s new Heavy Rescue 21 (HR21) is the first Heavy Rescue in Utah County. It carries four personnel and can be deployed to vehicle extrication, structural collapse, confined space, rope rescue, trench rescue, swiftwater rescue, and hazardous materials incidents. There are 5,000 pieces of rescue equipment totaling 24,000 pounds.

Malaga, NJ Twp Franklin Fire District #2 Heavy Rescue

When spec’ing its new Heavy Rescue, Malaga, NJ (Township of Franklin Fire Dist. 2) chose a 24′ aluminum SVI body mounted on a 20″ raised roof Spartan Gladiator 4-door chassis, which houses a 505 HP Cummins X15 engine. This fully equipped apparatus comes with a Onan Protec 25k-watt PTO generator, Will-Burt Scan Powerlite tower, Revolv-A-Tool rescue tool storage bracket, OnScene Solutions heavy-duty aluminum cargo slides and much more.

Below are some of the details of the Prince George’s County Fire/Ems Department Heavy Rescue. One unique feature is it has an exhaust diverter. A switch in the cab to switch the side the exhaust blows so the driver doesn’t have to worry about blowing exhaust into the working incident.
